The built up section through Bramley and Linersh Wood
Once well past the Gosden Aqueduct the route petters out as it enters Eastwood Road, Bramley. Evidence of the canal can be seen on the left behind the fencing where a large embankment was made. Thereafter the canal alignment is difficult to follow having either been built over or exists on private property

Just off Station Road, Bramley, is Stantons Wharf. This road leads to the lock cottage and is named after the Stantons, who were the toll collectors for the canal

The course of the canal ran along the road where these modern houses are, at the bottom of Stantons Wharf. Beyond is Linersh Wood
The canal passed from where these houses are towards the camera and onto Linersh Wood Road, at its junction with Fisher Rowe Close
The view looking the other way from the junction with Fisher Rowe Close. The gates mark the entrance to the exclusive Linersh Wood estate. Eagle eyed explorers will find a stream on either side of the road at this point. This crosses the Bramley Stream. It uses the original culvert built by the canal company and its evidence that this road was once the Wey and Arun Junction Canal! There is a discrenible rise in the road, this is because the canal rose through its third lock herebouts. This lock was known as Wesby's or Linersh

This is the point at which the road, built upon on the canal alignment, curves to the east allowing the canal alignment to be featured for a short stretch through Linersh Wood

The canal alignment can now be seen on the right hand side of the road, it takes on the form of a little stream crossed by fancy little bridges that form the driveways to the various properties
Another view further south east showing road, and canal alignment on the right

Both road alignment and canal alignment merge again here and the road now sits on the canal's route again. Another rise in the road indicates a further lock that once existed on this stretch
The very end of the road at Linersh Wood. Beyond the property in the middle distance the watered Wey and Arun begins its progress southwards. Next is the section towards Run Common
